Kayla and Krista Kummerl are twin directors based in Austin, Texas.

They grew up as theatre kids, developing an early fascination with how a world is built: sets, props, lighting, and the quiet moments that shape a story. Raised by two engineer parents, the twins studied film at The University of Texas at Austin and found their way into commercial filmmaking through a shared love of craft and visual storytelling.

Their work sits at the intersection of grounded reality and heightened visual design. Drawn to stories that feel human and familiar, they bring a thoughtful eye to the details that shape a frame: production design, texture, rhythm, and intentional camera movement. Much of their inspiration comes from the cultural language and aesthetics of younger generations, where small details often carry the biggest emotional weight.

Whether directing or building the world around a story, their approach is rooted in creating images that feel tactile, cinematic, and precise. The goal is always the same: moments that feel real enough to believe in, but intentional enough to make you look twice.
